Name a song that makes you cry.
There are hundreds of them that do it for me, but this one in particular is shredding me today:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8v_4O44sfjM

Jar of Hearts - Christina Perri

No, I can't take one more step towards you
'cause all that's waiting is regret.
And don't you know I'm not your ghost anymore?
You lost the love I loved the most.

I learned to live half alive,
and now you want me one more time?
And who do you think you are, runnin' round leaving scars,
collecting your jar of hearts, and tearing love apart?
You're gonna catch a cold from the ice inside your soul
So don't come back for me. Who do you think you are?

I hear you're asking all around
If I am anywhere to be found
But I have grown too strong
To ever fall back in your arms

And I've learned to live half a life,
and now you want me one more time?
And who do you think you are, runnin' round leaving scars,
collecting your jar of hearts, and tearing love apart?
You're gonna catch a cold from the ice inside your soul
So don't come back for me. Who do you think you are?

And it took so long just to feel all right,
remember how to put back the light in my eyes.
I wish I had missed the first time that we kissed,
'cause you broke all your promises, and now you're back.
You don't get to get me back.

And who do you think you are, runnin' round leaving scars,
collecting your jar of hearts, and tearing love apart?
You're gonna catch a cold from the ice inside your soul
So don't come back for me. Don't come back at all.

And who do you think you are, runnin' round leaving scars,
collecting your jar of hearts, tearing love apart?
You're gonna catch a cold from the ice inside your soul
Don't come back for me. Don't come back at all.

Who do you think you are?
Who do you think you are?
Who do you think you are?

----------------------------------------

There is certainly someone from my past that I'd LOVE to sing this to, and for once it's a song that's perfectly in my vocal range, but I can't keep from choking up even *listening* to it. Dammit.

I happened to buy it while I was going through mourning the deaths from cancer of two friends very close together, not knowing how incredibly sad and sentimental it was going to be. I listened to it quite a bit until I cried myself out and gave it to my sister because I just couldn't listen to it anymore without associating it with the losses of my friends.

It is an absolutely beautiful piece of work, though, really.

This OP made me think, when I was little, this song was the saddest song I could imagine. It still is. I didn't even remember it until now.

14. I dare you to not sob
This is sung its best by Cathie Ryan. She has the most wonderful, clear, Irish voice for this soulful tribute to friendship and loss. Heartbreaking. I have recomended this to many for a memorial service.

So Here's To You :

When first we met, complete awkward strangers

We did not know if we could be friends

How soon we've come for to know each other

And now I know we will meet again

So here's to you and our time together

I'll share with you a parting glass

And I'll bid adieu with some smiles and laughter

Our time apart will be short and pass

We've talked of dreams and of new tomorrows

Of yesterday and its dark despair

We've had our share of love and sorrow

And now we part as friends who care

So here's to you and our time together

I'll share with you a parting glass

And I'll bid adieu with some smiles and laughter

Our time apart will be short and pass

A long, long road, it lies before me

And fate will take me where it will

But through the valleys and over mountains

I'll not forget, but remember you still

So here's to you and our time together

I'll share with you a parting glass

And I'll bid adieu with some smiles and laughter

Our time apart will be short and pass

So here's to you and our time together

I'll share with you a parting glass

And I'll bid adieu with some smiles and laughter

Our time apart will be short and pass

21. Ordinary Miracle by Sarah McLachlan. A few months ago my mother
called to tell me that my grandmother was dying and I should get home to say goodbye, and as I was driving that song came on the radio and I remember just sobbing through the whole thing... and now every time I hear it I cry :(

27. Don Williams "It only rains on me"
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_I0tOrtioug

I know all about black clouds,
There's one that follows me around
It may sound funny but somehow,
It only rains on me.

It follows me, most everywhere,
And it seems its hardly fair
People will stop and people stare,
But it only rains on me.

Chorus:
Broken dreams and drowned parades,
Lovers who just slip away
Guess I learn to live that way,
It only rains on me.

Seems to me there was a time,
It used to rain on friends of mine
Now I look around and find,
It only rains on me.

I'll bet this won't hurt you much,
You'll find someone soon enough
I'm the one that loses in love,
It only rains on me.

It's time we said goodbye and so,
I'll just take my cloud and go
Don't worry you'll forget I know,
It only rains on me.

Chorus:
Broken dreams and drowned parades,
Lovers who just slip away
Guess I learn to live that way,
It only rains on me.

Seems to me there was a time,
It used to rain on friends of mine
But now I look around and find,
It only rains on me...
