2. Yes
I was making bacon and when the microwave turned off, I found flames inside. Put it out with water.

4. FYI water- electrical appliance...
not always the wisest thing to use...

A pound of flour and shut the door should have done the trick :)

6. I don't know.
I was putting the dishes away and the microwave turned off. When I looked, there were flames inside. I had placed the bacon on paper towels to microwave, and I was afraid the towels would become fully engulfed so I poured water and the flames went out. I think the microwave died before I poured the water.

8. Glad everything is OK
I had my own little kitchen trauma recently when a microwave safe muffin pan that was stored in the drawer under my oven caught on fire. Febreeze works wonders when you're trying to get rid of that weird burning smell.
