The Good News: My basement is clean and very well organized...
I wish I could say the same about the rest of the house.
10 hours with an organizer was enough time to go thru 20 years of boxes piled high in my basement. But we didn't have a chance to touch any of the other rooms. I mean I'm very happy with the results but I still have alot of work to do on my house.
Good thing is my organizer does follow-up and is encouraging me as I go thru the rest of the rooms in my house. She'll be visiting me again in a month to review what I've done - I like how she holds me accountable for the 'homework' she has assigned me.
But all this cleaning is good for the karma, I really do feel like I've gotten alot of positive work done on the house. Plus I donated 4 bags of clothes, a bag of shoes and 2 boxes of books to the local homeless shelter (I was going to give the books to the local library but the guy at the shelter said they'd would love to have the books so I said go for it).
My goal is to have my house totally completed by my birthday so I can have a great party at my house. This includes getting my backyard looking amazing and possibly painting my master bedroom. So I have 3 more months of work to get this all done. What sucks though is the world is going to end a week later (5/21/11) so I'll only have a week to enjoy all this hard work.
