Question for Seattle, WA Area DUers
I am going to Safeco Field this season, and I am staying at a hotel on 4th Avenue & Spring Street. Is the stadium within walking distance of this hotel?

Thanks.

it's a nice little walk. Go here to see what I mean. It's be better to take the free bus (as indicated by the blue markings) and them walk about 3 blocks instead! :bounce:

2. Staying at the Monaco or the W?
You will be right across from our Library too. Downtown Seattle is a free bus zone, but to get all the way to Safeco, you will have to pay. But you can get off a few blocks away, and save the $2.50 and walk through Pioneer Square and Baseball Alley, which always a fun baseball experience.

3. The W
Is it too far to walk? Map says it's less than a mile. I like walking.

4. No, not too far
You can definitely walk it, I guess it is about 1.2 miles, according to Google maps. You will walk through Pioneer Square and I think it is Occidental Ave that turns into Baseball Alley for the season.

5. I think it's walkable
but it's not a great neighborhood. Probably fine when a game is on and all the fans are coming in and out. I wouldn't go to a bar near Safeco after and then walk home at night though. Safeco is in a kind of rundown industrial area and then as you get to downtown you're going past all the missions and shelters.

6. If you like walking, no problem.
If you decide to take the bus, walk one block downhill to Third Avenue and grab a southbound bus in the ride-free zone. Ask the driver where to get off (You could otherwise wind up Goddess-knows-where if you don't get off soon enough.) The ride free zone runs out before you get to Safeco Field, so you'll need $2.50 in exact change if you stay on the bus past that point. The driver usually announces "Last stop in the ride-free zone." You can get off there without having to pay a fare.

8. I walk this route all the time after Sounders matches
I catch the bus at 3rd and Columbia, so you're only five blocks further...it's an easy walk.
