Mexican brewery unveils first gay beer
Call me what you will but I just can't see the need for seperate "gay" and "straight" beers.

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldnews/centralamericaandthecaribbean/mexico/8329843/Mexican-brewery-unveils-first-gay-beer.html

A small Mexican brewery has produced what it claims is the world's first beer specifically targeted at the homosexual community. The beer, which has a slight honey flavour, will initially be marketed to homosexual consumers in Mexico, Colombia and Japan.

The Minerva brewery said that the "Artisan Honey-Ales" would appeal to a section of the beer-drinking public that had so far been snubbed by larger brewers.

"We're out in the market with great respect with the idea of offering a product directed to the gay-lesbian community that has been ignored for too long but is important and very demanding", Dario Rodriguez Wyler, commercial manager for distributors Bodega 12, told the Mexican news agency Efe.

The label on the beer bottles has been designed so that it can be unglued and worn as a symbol of gay-lesbian pride, he said.

2. The fifth one?
Stone Levitation was my 5th beer at the Sheffield Tap last night. Mind you, I only had that one as they were all out of Saison Du Silly!

3. I have to ask
So, if you're not gay, will drinking a gay beer turn you gay?

7. Ah the Colin Farrell definition of "gay" beer.....
...any beer in a Stem Glass.

Trouble is, that includes a lot of VERY potent beers. And quite frankly I couldn't care less if someone thinks that Westmalle is gay. It's chuffing brilliant if you ask me!

I've been accused of drinking girlie beer when quaffing some of the lambic stuff like Floris and Timmermans before. And if you ever order Mongozo Coconut beer make sure it's in a proper glass and not that bit of coconut that it often gets served in. Not only does it make you look like a twat but it actually impares the taste of the beer!

10. They're saying gay people have no taste buds?
A beer with a "slight honey flavour" sounds God-awful to me. But then again, I'm not their target consumer.

14. Beer with honey?
So what does that make Leine's Honey Weiss or Schell's Zommerfest? Honey Weiss is almost a Wisconsin Staple and Zommerfest is a nice summer seasonal.

15. Some great honey beers over here too.
Fat Cat Honey Ale is one of my favourite beers, and I know a few people who really adore Thornbridge Bracia, a 9% stout made with honey.

16. Actually some smart gay activist started using many older symbols.
Edited on Mon Feb-21-11 04:21 AM by RandomThoughts
The rainbow, Gay, Glad, The upside down triangle.

None of those are about the topic of sexual orientation, but can also be about that topic. That symbols about those items are older then there usages in many of those things.

That is because there are some groups that know alot about symbols that believe that the population problem they worry about, can in part be solved by more tolerance to gays.

But that is a long story about think tanks and some of the people that know alot about symbols and wanted to attach concepts of gays to concepts of some religious concepts, most likely it was along the lines of the Republicans trying to make religion all about gays and abortion, and then bombarding people of faith with religious symbols in most of the concepts around those topics.
