Tom Cruise in Final Talks to Star in "Rock of Ages" FIlm

Tom Cruise is in final negotiations to play the bad-boy rock star Stacee Jaxx in the film version of the musical Rock of Ages, according to published reports. As previously announced, Adam Shankman is directing the picture.

Rock of Ages is set at a legendary Hollywood club facing its imminent demise. The score includes the hit songs of iconic rockers Journey, Styx, REO Speedwagon, Foreigner, Pat Benatar, Whitesnake, and many more. The musical's book is written by Chris D'Arenzio, who will also pen the screenplay with Michael Arndt and Alan Loeb.
