I was watching the special features on the TNG collection and there she is, bigger than shit - Majel Roddenberry (Barrett). I thought she looked familiar all along, but that's because she did - Nurse Christine Chapel. I didn't know she was the computer voice on TNG until I was trolling Wikipedia.

3. I recently (well, over the past few months) watched all of the original and TNG episodes.
TNG had some really interesting running themes. I liked that Q both opened and closed the series, but my favorite Q episode was when he appeared in front of the view screen four feet in the air and naked, dropped to the floor and said, "red alert!"

2. But did you know that before Majel Barrett came along, Roddenberry had a thing w/Uhura?
from http://www.nndb.com/people/503/000022437/

Other scandalmongers have tried to make much out of an affair between Nichelle Nichols (Uhuru) and Roddenberry, yet both freely admit the affair. Most interesting is the fact that Nichols has said that their relationship may have helped her land a role on the show.

4. Scotty and Uhuru seem to have a thing in the shows, but it is Spock in the new movie.

5. Yeah, as an oldie trekkor I had a problem with that.
I just couldn't see Spock and Uhura getting it on. Kinda ruined the whole movie for me!

6. I sort of liked that they took a new direction with an alternate time continuum.
I'm looking forward to the next one.

Speaking of "next ones", is there another Batman in the works?

7. I think most people liked the Star Trek movie.
I was outnumbered, but just didn't like it! Maybe I have an issue with change or something. Don't know! The special effects were undeniably awesome.

I don't know about another Batman, either, but I wish they would. Of course (again - showing my age here!!!) none of them have been as good as the first one - with Nicholson as the Joker!!!

9. Yeah, but what the FUCK were they thinking making bobble-head Clooney Batman in the 4th?
:puke:

That pretty much killed the potential for another movie.

12. In one episode of TOS (The original series)
there is an implication that Uhura and Spock had something in the past. I'd have to look it up, though.

8. And 'Number One' in the pilot episode
and the computer voice for just about every version, not just TNG.

11. She was the only performer to have played a role in every single Star Trek series.
She even recorded a voice-over for the new Star Trek movie.
