My old man ginger cat has had a rough week and we have been nursing him along. I gotta tell you that canned pumpkin really does work for feline constipation. And cats really do eat it with no hesitation! I mixed 2 tablespoons with 1 tablespoon heavy cream and barely warmed it. In about 24 hours he got relief!

Besides, with the rest of the can you can make pie, and I did.

6. Works for dogs, too. In fact, it's good for both constipation and diarrhea. Whenever the dogs eat

something nasty in the woods and then poo it all over at home, I give them pumpkin with each meal. If it's really bad and they're suffering, I'll switch out some of their kibble with cooked white rice, or make a whole mess of steamed burger and white rice, and throw some pumpkin in it. They go crazy for it, and it stops them right up. Sometimes I give a little as a treat.

10. When our old doxie had diarrhea, vet suggested: cottage cheese and yogurt as options.

Something about the active cultures in the yogurt protecting the intestinal lining, especially in an older pooches.
