2. It's actually been pretty pleasant

Temps in the high 20s/low 30s, and partly sunny. I've always loved how beautiful it is here.

3. Apart from Sarah Palin, Alaska is a great place.

I got to spend a little time up there a few years ago for work -- fortunately it was in June. The weird thing was wandering around downtown Anchorage in daylight at 11:00 at night. Couldn't sleep because it didn't get dark. I have to get back there some time.

4. I was here a lot in the mid 90s, when I was a lot younger

I can remember seeing sunrise at about 4 am, and sunset around midnight. The town itself is very pleasant. I also would like to get here on my own time to do some more exploring.

Wasilla used to be a cute little outpost. Now it's just ugly urban sprawl.
