Happy New Year from Phish and the what's left of the Grateful Dead!
Cool. Both bands melt my face. FURTHUR is like seeing the GD circa 75 or so. Joe Russo is a FREAKING MONSTER. JK is spot on and can take it THERE almost all the time. They are playing killer covers and playing songs in random order now. Any song can go anywhere. Phish is back and tighter and better than ever IMO. Jams may be shorter but they seldom get lost and it is almost like they are reborn. Trey is melting face in a different way. Love it saw a lotta shows by both bands this year.

Furthur NYE, Phil's 70th. Furthur Fest, Outside Lands and The NYE run. FURTHUR fest with Hot Tuna, Jackie Green, Larry and Theresa Campbell,(The SUNRISE from the fest she sang was delicious, might be the moment of the summer)

Phish at the Greek, Telluride Town park and Charleston SC twice (The second night of this one was the best Phish show I saw). The cloud at Telluride that burned a hot red for about an hour and then during Divided Sky turned into a giant fish hanging over the valley, just as the light drained out of the sky. The Greek shows were amazing. Still my favorite venue. And they melted face. The drive to telluride was amazing too. What a mind blowing place is Utah...

Charelston was fun but someone disrespected my things and lost them or threw them off the balcony on the first night. That really was the biggest bummer of the whole summer. I bring my toys so I can play with them and I love to let others play too. I even love to teach people to play. And the disrespect I was shown by people I thought were my brothers and sisters hurt really bad.

2. I dunno that I'd call Phish better than ever, but ...
mid-2008 through the present is their best period in more than a decade. Wish I could've been up at MSG for the show, but I caught last year's run in Miami, which was stellar. 12/30/09 was one of the best Phish shows I've seen.

What did you lose in Charleston exactly?

3. Light wire...and two juggling balls.
Edited on Mon Jan-03-11 06:25 PM by Bennyboy
Light wire is long electric bright wire. I had three strands one six feet one 8 feet and one two feet. I put them in my seat and my friends started playing with them. (Which is cool with me) They were sitting about five rows above me. I went to get them and they were gone (not my friends, the wire) And my friend threw two juggling balls off the balcony. Pretty pissed. I use the term friend due to lack of antother term.

4. Bummer. Well, look at it this way...
who's to say that those juggling balls raining down on the floor didn't make somebody's day? I know if I'd been on the floor and a set of juggling balls fell at my feet from the balcony, it'd be a story I'd tell for the rest of my life.
