Tomorrow morning I get to shave!

I didn't shave today, or yesterday, so I am excited that I get to shave tomorrow!

Just thought I'd let you know since I don't really have anything else of personal information to offer you that's of interest.

Did I mention that I'm learning how to shave with a double-edge razor*? I am. It's awesome! I've never had shaves this close, even when shaving really well with one of those fancy multi-blades I've been using for a few years.

Seriously - holy shit, the DE blade is fucking amazing, and at 20 cents a blade versus $3 a blade, it just makes sense.


*I've already been using shaving brushes and shaving soap in a gentlemanly fashion, so that's not new; I only changed the razor.

1. you may find this hard to believe but ........

I am on my second blade this year. First blade lasted from Jan.15 - Aug. 15. Second blade is still sharp.
I got one of those little 'as seen on TV' sharpeners and bought the 4 blade tungsten head.
I use baby oil instead of soap because my skin is so sensitive. It took some experimenting to get where I am, but I feel like once in my life I beat the system.
Apparently Mrs. Lib also uses my razor, so between the two of us we must have gotten near 150 shaves off that last blade. I only shave every other day.

5. I have a soft beard, so my blades last hella long, too - cartridges would last me a couple months.

Well beyond the point where the little strip of color was well into the "change me!!!!" zone.

2. Cool! I get to shave tomorrow too, and I'm all giddy with anticipation - the first

shave after a weekend of stubble is always so fantastically smooth. Probably break out a new cartridge for the event (Mach 3). Yep, that's right, 3 blades. Four blades is overkill, and the users are pretentious and waste money. Two blades is too few, and those people just don't care about their appearance. I'm really awfully glad I'm a three-blade man!

At least, not the way that my body has decided that the beard should grow. I'm just not a manly man in the facial hair growing kind of way.

Hell, you still can't even see my arm hair unless you get in close.

10. I only have to shave every other week or so

and that didn't start until my early 30's.
