Today's College Football Tailgate Thread
Only three games between ranked teams today:

#19 Mississippi State at #12 Alabama
#24 Kansas State at #17 Missouri
#23 South Carolina at #22 Kansas State

But there are other interesting games today as well, some with conference and/or national title implications:

afternoon games
#14 Utah at Notre Dame
Georgia at #2 Auburn
Penn State at #9 Ohio State

evening games
#1 Oregon at California
#6 Stanford at Arizona State
#10 Oklahoma State at Texas
USC at #18 Arizona

My Oklahoma Sooners play Texas Tech today – fortunately it’s in Norman, since they really don’t play well at home. And Illinois should get bowl eligible for the third time this century by beating Minnesota.

So who does your team play today? What games are you looking forward to?

1. Not a whole lotta interesting games today.
Course, last weekend was a smorgasbord so it was destined to be a boring lineup this week.

19. I had it a feeling it would be close
Didn't have a feeling they would win though. I did know Stanford has a vulnerable defense. It is offense where they are excellent. This game, Arizona State's defense is doing a terrific job. Offense could be better but they are running the ball well.

So ASU's defense really is doing a great job.

Coupla unfortunate penalties, though, and Stanford is knocking ...

Stanford just got a first down at about the ASU 30 -- State just used their last time out. 2:24 left. Can't give up another first down.

34. Season is over
Edited on Sat Nov-13-10 10:46 PM by JonLP24
I'm checking out the basketball team's schedule as we speak. They needed 7 wins to be bowl eligible because they played 2 FCS teams.

Only 1 starter on their team is a Senior so they got a lot of players coming back, including key defensive players. Running back Cameron Marshall should be coming back and Steven Threet should be back too. The young receivers will be more experienced. They play Missouri and Illinois next year non-conference. They make it by those teams, they should be able to make it through the Pac-10 and finally be bowl eligible.

I feel bad for Dennis Erickson in all this, he brought some talented players over here, they actually starting running the ball effectively with him. Under Koetter they were a very pass heavy team with Andrew Walter mostly. He probably won't be back.

He lost the game. But I'm more worried about LaJames' limping. We don't want ANY more injured ducks!!

That game was exhausting even for the fans.

38. Late, late, late to the party
Oregon takes the ball with 9:25 to go in the game and . . . runs out the frickin' clock! Unbelievable. One of the greatest, if not the greatest drive I've ever seen. And they didn't score.

Next week: The Mighty Wildcats get their chance for revenge!

39. I'm glad DH's Aggies beat Texas.
Hey there, fellow Okie!!! And they beat the Baptists last week too.

We only use football as an excuse to put out our OSU Halloween colored banner and hopefully confuse the natives in Texas. DH has turned me into an orange T shirt wearing Aggie fan, although I am a native Texan and never went to either UT or Texas A&M.

Last fall we went to Stillwater and saw Neil DeGrasse Tyson speak at a fundraiser for the library. I got to see the campus and was impressed with the place. I finally convinced DH that Aggies are smart and it's OK to be one (He's the science nerd (Mechanical) kind, not the cow college (Ag) kind).
