NASCAR pics
Please, no NASCAR bashing.

These are some pics I took Sunday at the AAA Texas 500. It was actually a lot of fun. :D

Willie Nelson played:

All day I tried to get a clear shot of Jeff Gordon's car... ugh!

This is NOT how I wanted Jeff Gordon's day to end :-(

I definitely want to go again.

4. It was my first...
my friends were laughing at me when the cars swooshed by, at full speed, for the first time! lol

My grandfather was actually a stock car mechanic. Maybe he never took me to the track because he knew I'd get addicted to it. :-)

5. That's cool! You're a Jeff Gordon fan too?
Who trashed Gordon's car?

6. You didn't hear about the Jeff Burton incident?!
Jeff Gordon shoves Jeff Burton following accident

12:48 AM CST on Monday, November 8, 2010

From Wire Reports

FORT WORTH – An angry Jeff Gordon hit Jeff Burton with a hard two-handed push after Burton sent Gordon's car crashing into the outside wall during a caution period Sunday.

After getting out of his No. 24 car, Gordon walked from the top to the bottom of the track to confront Burton. Gordon shoved Burton, then took some swings before they were separated by two NASCAR safety officials.

"Thankfully, I had a long walk to him down the backstretch because I did about the least amount I was going to. I wanted to do a whole lot more to him," Gordon said. "You know, I like Jeff, he's a guy that's usually very rational, and I respect his opinion and he apologized, said it was his fault, said he didn't mean to do it, and whatever. It's over."

Burton took full responsibility for the accident – "100 percent, it was my fault," he said – and had no problem with what Gordon did...

8. Thanks. But these are some of the worst pics I've taken in awhile.
It was difficult between the action and all the shadows.

I used to be a big NASCAR fan when Dale Earnhardt Sr. was alive. Haven't followed it much since he was killed, but being at a NASCAR race is an experience you won't soon forget!

11. Thanks
No, I won't forget it! It's always better experiencing something in real life. Completely different from seeing the cars followed around by a camera, on TV! :hi:
