Tin Hat Alert!
For those of you who don't know, I'm Will Pitt's mother. I'm up in the woods in New Hampshire on a little lake... about 40 feet from it. Will is coming up tonight or tomorrow am. I'm sitting out in my yard with the dogs and the cats and I start to see all these strange fishermen... by strange I mean I haven't seen them before and they are hanging right off the dock and they don't seem to be doing the things most fishermen do when they fish. So I put my tin hat on and decide that they are government guys and are waiting for him...(jeeze... I need a long rest...but I've just had a long rest!) This is a joke...but maybe it isn't. :eyes:

6. Here's what you do
You go get a boat oar.
You walk up to them and just start wailing on them.
At the sam time repeatedly ask them if they are G-men, they will be so disoriented they will probably tell the truth.

Honestly if they are on your property go out and ask them what they are doing and if they don't give a good enough answer call the cops.

21. Well that's a bit much, but taking PICTURES of them would be
a great idea.

Tell them, when they ask, that you came up to take pix of the lake, and you waited long enough for them to leave, and you need your photos, so you are going on ahead with your shoot.

Indeed. Do that... make yourself seen photographing them, and get their reaction too.

22. I WOULD call the local sheriffs, don't tell them who Will is though..
just say these guys aren't acting right.

Have the local police shake em down a bit. Can't hurt.

26. I'm with underpants on this one. Confront them. And if you have...
...a firearm, take it with you.

(Please, DU, no gun control flames. I'm in favor of sensible gun legislation.) :-)

3. Could be. Is it a private lake?
Friendly with any neighbors to get a 2nd opinion of the fishermen? Did they invite them?
Got a camera?
Where'd they park?
Take the fishermen some brownies. :)

If he's using right-handed bait or a left-handed fishing bait...

(Of course there's no such thing...)

Taking lots of pictures? Talking into their watches? Eating donuts?

call the local cops/sheriffs. I wouldn't put anything past Ashcroft's army.

Hope to see you guys on Saturday!

9. Damn good idea...
I'm going to go out with my trust little camers and take a shit load of pictures! I don't see any donuts... actually, I think this is just a few clueless fishermen but I do worry about this. No joke, I keep waiting for the feds to show up. Maybe I'm just being a protective mom, but I think it will come and I don't think Will gets this!

10. It would worry me too.
It sounds like intimidation. I guess the only thing I can offer you is what Will offers us when one of us expresses fear, don't let them get to you. I know it probably doesn't help, it wouldn't me if it was one of my sons but it is the best I have. Wish I could do more.

14. Yeah, that's the one
I can see Will sending me a picture from each of the stops on his booktour holding up the CD and taunting me with the fact he still has it.

But when they didn't make their way to Wilmington, I went out and bought anther one. That's probably one of my favorit CD's of all time!

15. Can you imagine worring about this in a free society!!!!
I think that is most depressing for me. How far we have fallen... there was a time in my life when I would have never have considered this as a possibility! Forgive my language but fuck these people!

You must be very proud of your son, but it sounds like a double edged sword.

The best thing to do is take pics (as has been suggested.) At least they know you are aware of their presence.

In addition, if it's just fisherman, it won't make no nevermind to them, right?

I live in Minnesota and after the death of Paul Wellstone, (not to mention) JFK, MLK, RFK ... I don't put anything past 'them.'

18. Thanks
I think you are right... but some of this is thinking the unthinkable... I though I was getting a little nuts but maybe not, actually, I think these fishermen are just incompetent but the fact that I noticed is different from last year. UG!

19. it goes on in this "free society" all the time
sadly ...

I call it tyranny, and it exists in the USA ... one doesn't just have to watch those Cop reality shows ... anyone who has challenged the good ol'boys, corporate america, etc., have known 'fear' ...

... btw ...

I introduced myself to Will recently while he was in southern California.

20. Hi Izzie!
Are you not coming to Boston of Saturday? Only an asshole would spend the summer "vacation" in that part of Texas (oops! No offense to Texans, but can you really disagree?)... but then, he has air conditioning unlike most residents of that part of the world.

23. Hi Will's Mom!! Nice to meet you, sort of.
:hi:

I don't blame you for being nervous. I wouldn't put it past this bunch to be casing out dissenters. But keep in mind, they have much bigger fish to fry, like all the CIA guys and gals who know they falsified evidence. Will is excellent at educating people on how evil this bunch is but he's not someone who can "out" them, so to speak. So be careful but don't worry too much. You might want to record all incoming calls and have a hidden recorder in your house to turn on in case of an uninvited visitor, if you know what I mean. That's what I would do if I was Will Pitt's Mom.

28. This is a different situation but this is what we used..................
to do when non-fishing drunks would park behind our house and pee towards the house. We'd all stand out back on the deck (before anybody gets any stupid ideas, I lived in the phosphate mines in a manufactured home)and we all had throwable objects. Some had green oranges, others golf balls or tennis balls and we would hurl them at the "Perp". They usually got the idea and left. Now had they been with "THE MAN", we probably would have been mowed down! Be careful!
