Henry VIII was a man of his times who was desperately wanted a male heir to prevent a civil war upon his death. I don't think one can consider Henry VIII to be a serial killer as this is what happened to his wives:
Catherine of Aragon-divorced. Mother of the future Queen Mary Anne Boleyn-beheaded for adultery. Mother of of the future Queen Elizabeth Jane Seymour-died of postnatal complications shortly after giving birth to Edward who later became Edward VI. Anne of Cleves-marriage annuled and she remained good friends with Henry VIII. Outlived him and his last two wives. Catherine Howard-beheaded for adultery. 1st cousin of Anne Boleyn Catherine Parr-last wife of Henry VIII and outlived him
