I seem to be the only person I know who watches this show. There must be others.

3. Ah, there's on finally.
Do you love this show or what?!?! I never thought I'd get hooked on it because I thought it would be some teenybopper thing centered around American Bandstand but it's so much more than that. I plan my Sunday nights around this show.

4. I agree!
it captures the spirit of the era wonderfully.

I am a bit worried about next week, though.

And why is the season finale so early in the spring?

6. Well, last season ended with the big riot.
This show seems to go out with bang.

A question: Does anyone think that the show will put Meg and Sam on the road to an interracial relationship. The show seems to subtlely flirt with the idea and Meg has had no luck with her other boyfriends...

8. I really liked Luke
But I think Meg's going to wind up going out with Sam too...

10. Luke's a hottie...
...but he seems to have something on his mind. The way he just dumped Roxanne seems strange. Do you think that maybe he's thinking of Meg again--especially now that she is developing a social and political conscience and is not only interested in Bandstand?

2. Yes..
I love the show. Being thirteen when the Beatles landed I was a product of the turbulent 60's. American Dreams captures the true spirit of that era, from civil rights to Vietnam to coming of age. A truly great show.

7. I love "American Dreams"
There are 3 of us in my office that get together on Monday morning to discuss the show.
We were joking yesterday that they would the end the session with the question who shot J.J. hanging in the air.

9. I am a big fan of that show..
I was 13 in 1962, so that whole era is burned into my brain.. I have always felt that JJ was the "tragic hero", so I am afraid that he will be killed.:(. His death could be the catalyst that pushes the family "over the edge"..Dad into politics, Meg into protests, Helen away from the church..

I have the feeling that they are all "teetering" on the edge and I have this gut feeling that either JJ will die or he will come back injured and be an anti-war activist..

I don't "get" the Luke/Roxanne thing.. Maybe he does not trust her to stay with him.... She's kind of flighty, but I thought they were a good couple..

The thing that gripes me, is that this show gets pre-empted all the time for lame "awards" shows and other stuff and then has such a short season..BAH!! Back in the day... shows pwould premier the fall season in mid-Sept, and show all first run episodes until late MAY...and then repeat most of the season during the summer...

ER has pissed me off this year too.. They must only have a 10 week season, because almost every week, when I turn it on I see Romano's ugly mug..and he DIED last year...

and the networks wonder why people have strayed to cable...:eyes:

11. On a really bad streak...
...it can seem as though the show only airs every two weeks. I was a little annoyed to find out that next Sunday's episode is the season finale. I had just recommended the show to a friend and she said she'd check it out and now the season is ending.

12. I think they only aired ONCE in March
There was the academy awards and two other lame music awards shows..

I have my PVR set to record it, and I'm pretty sure it was only on once..

I know it costs a lot to produce hour-long shows, but why bother if they don't plan to make enough of them to keep people interested..??

That's what eventually kills shows.. People get pissed off when it seems to always be a re-run, so they just find something else to watch..and if they miss an episode, they look forward to the "re-run season" to catch up..but, more and more are only airing selected episodes, and out of order, at that, so it's impossible to start watching , and make any sense of what's going on..

Lots of famous shows did not "hit" until the summer re-runs, when new people "found" them.. but now they are just interested in puttinig on some new totally awful stuff in the summer..
