Anyone out there doing 'Meatless Mondays'?

Seems like a good idea, especially for those of us who are carnivores feeling guilty

1. and then only fish on Fridays...

(of course, the fish needs to be from one of the species NOT endangered by overfishing).

And then you'll find that pasta primavera is very satisfying on Tuesday, and stir-fry spinach tofu with bok choy is great on Wednesdays, and so on. :)

I'm vegetarian, almost vegan, not necessarily because I object to the idea of having meat every once in a while, but because I am absolutely, 100% horrified by factory farms and the way we treat our food animals. I cannot enjoy another creature's misery. If someone offered me a turkey sandwich that came from a turkey that lived a good life, was free to roam around, ate good food, lived beyond 1 year and was killed in a humane and painless way, I'd probably accept. But as things stand now - the guilt is too strong.

2. Yeah, like every Monday - and Tuesday, and Wednesday, and Thursday, and Friday,...

and Saturday, and Sunday. Been doing that for over 20 years now.
