Anyone here ever cook chicken livers any way other than frying?

I like them, they're cost-effective...and I'm trying to stay away from fried food.

3. You can bake them. Do a search for recipes. They're good, but my favorite is chopped chicken liver
sandwiches.

12. My mother use to cook them on brown paper bag in the oven
She'd just cut open a bag and put it on a tray. Pour the washed livers on the brown paper-add salt and a bit of pepper and roast away.

They'd come out a bit crunchy on the outside with a soft and melty middle.

You could throw some sliced onions in with them as well.

Give the bag a bit of a spray of olive oil and you are good to go.

13. That sounds yum. How long did she bake them?
I'm assuming at the standard 350F? Some thyme on the onions.

You can also lay a few strips of bacon on top....Yummers Once the bacon is done the livers are done. You want them slightly pink inside.

15. I sautee onions and mushrooms
in a big skillet, when the onions are soft throw in the chicken livers and a 14 1/2 oz can of diced tomatoes (I usually use the garlic and onion or Italian seasoned kind) and let simmer until they are cooked through. Then serve them over noodles.

Not much healthier than frying, but delish as an appetizer or party finger food.
