Yesterday I was forced to witness what is wrong with this country.

Sitting in a doctors waiting room. Some pseudo-"news" show. Plastic heads trying to gin up excitement and fear. 4 stories in 30 or 40 minutes, repeated ;like three times each (updates or something) . One was dead blond's mom breaking and entering Peruvian prison to accost suspected murderer. Another was Oprah paying taxes for contest winners or something. Another was some dumbass jumping on a school bus to fight kids. And some hostage situation at the discovery channel. THAT one sure had the fake blond all excited.

it really makes me feel subversive that I don't watch tee vee, just because when it happens I can feel actual physical symptoms (of stupidity, I swear) and I am sure people that are hypnotized by it all the time have no idea what is happening to them.

The second most horrible doctor's waiting room scam is "health magazines" full of pharmaceutical ads placed by agencies that keep doctor's offices tidy by removing competing reading materials.

I'll complain about both.

18. I know just what you mean.

Last time I was in a Dr's office, there was a large,flat screened tv spewing Faux Snooze in the waiting room. When I finally got to see the Dr, all he wanted to talk about was how bad ObamaCare was, how it was going to ruin my Tricare benefits, and how important it was for me to vote for some local Christian Repub. Not one word about the procedure I was there to discuss with him. Needless to say, I didn't get the nerve block for my back, and will not be using his services now or ever!
