Did we have a Sopranos discussion post today?
If so, can someone direct me to it? If not, does anyone want to talk about it? Thanks.

1. Haven't seen one but I'll partake....
I'm glad they got rid of Robert Loggia. I found his character distracting, as I do with Steve Buscemi's although his is growing on me.

3. I agree 100%
He was getting very annoying. Although I think they should have taken him out; kind of was a wuss way of dealing with it if you ask me.....

5. No, I liked what they did....
I think it showed the nuances of Tony's character, which is the crux of the entire series.

I get tired of people judging each episode on how much action there is or whether anyone gets whacked (I'm not saying you do this, just speaking generally here). The genius of this show is the intricate character development and interpersonal relationships between the characters. Sometimes less is more.

4. Yeah, Feech had to go. SPOILER ALERT!!
I was surprised that he would be so disrespectful of Tony's authority, if he was so "old school" he'd know better than to cross the boss, right? But Tony did the right thing, better to send him back to prison than to whack him.

Sounds like a big showdown with little Carmine and Johnny Sack - I think Sack has to go and Tony will end up setting it up, in exchange for a bigger share in the New York operations.

I'd like to see more of Buscemi. I hope his role gets bigger.

A while back, I had heard rumors that a major character would die in episode 4, which was last night's show. I was afraid that maybe it would be A.J., with the way he was behaving. What a plot twist that would have been!!!

I guess Tony had Carmela's furniture removed because she was no longer keeping custody of A.J.? Maybe this will be her epiphany and she can get away from him forever - for someone who claims to be so religious, she seems to have no problem living off the fruits of his blood money.

8. Whoa!! What's this about the furniture?
Was that what that last scene was? To be honest I didn't even catch that. I thought she just entered the house and it was to indicate her feeling of loneliness with nobody being there.

11. Carmela should lose the house
The kids don't live there anymore, and besides, it's paid for with that "blood money" she's all guilty about, unless it's buying her nice things.

I can't stand Carmela. Let her go live her nice new independent life in an apartment.

13. I don't care much for Carmela myself.
Her hypocrisy is astounding. Very religious, very much into status, Ivy League, etc. She knows damn well where the funding for this comes from, yet she's content to reap the benefit of it. I will say that I adore Edie Falco - her portrayal of Carmela is superb.

17. Edie does an incredible job
Her portrayal is flawless. Carmela is, indeed, a hypocrite. She knew exactly what life she was marrying into.

2. I want to see Little Anthony join Tony's gang
I think that's where they're headed. I think by the end of next season Little Anthony will be sliding into Christopher's role because Chris and his g/f will be offed.

Along with Pauly.

7. I agree about Chrissy and Adrianna.
If the gang gets word that Adrianna is snitching, she's definitely dead, and Chrissy will be seriously compromised, if not dead himself.

Paulie deserves to die just for being such an enormous a**hole.

6. I watched it. An ok one I guess.
Tony made AJ do his homework right now. They killed Lorraine(was that her name?)when she was naked. Christopher's girlfriend is still narcing. Johnny Sach is taking control over Carmine Jr. What did I miss ?

9. Well, what I thought I saw: when she entered the house
Edited on Mon Mar-29-04 01:38 PM by bunnyj
is that there was absolutely no furniture. Like the place had been cleaned out.

But I could be wrong, I'm very tired and sore from getting ready to move that maybe I saw stuff that wasn't there?

Did anyone else see this, or have I gone completely round the bend?

on edit - I meant to reply to vi5 on post #8.

also, on double-edit, Tony had no problem going into the house and taking the equipment from the "media room" without Carmela's knowledge. What's to stop him from cleaning out the (her) house?

12. My wife said that, too...
but I thought it was the fact that she was coming home to an empty house, (not of furniture, but family) and she was reflecting on that for a minute...kind of a "how the hell has it come to this" moment.

10. AJ will get whacked a la
Jackie Jr. Paulie and Chris will go at it and one of them will get whacked. Adrienne will get whacked if they find out she's a snitch. If that's the case, Paulie will do it, and whack Chris for good measure.

I think this is the last year...Tony gets whacked by Johnny Sach. You read it here first.

25. My ending of the show
Would involve a mirror of the beginning. Tony, all alone, on a park bench, feeding ducks. No family.

during the card game. I didn't know you could do that. I knew that he had paternity insurance during Van Halen's heyday, but jeez.

16. So, in the preview for next week, who is Chrissy shooting?
I suspect it may be Ade. Of course, The Chase people are very cagey with the editing of their coming attractions to lead you to just that kind of conclusion, so who knows? But the combo of his look when Ade is asking who will be at whatever function he's en route to and the pained look on his face as he blasts away (the backdrop looks the same as the backdrop of Ade and Agent Sourpuss in the car, btw)...

AJ will definitely be mobbed up by the series' finale. AJ is, I said more than once at TwoP, the hand grenade in the closet from the season opener.

I really want Johnny Sack to die, painfully. I hate him above every other character on the show since Ralphie and Richie.

Paulie's over-reaction to Tony's joke was priceless Paulie. Sil seems to changing a bit this season.

Anyone else curious about the disappearance of Tony's lawyer nephew/cousin (?) from last season (Mr. Pukes in the Copter)?

Sooooooo glad the Feechster is on his way back to the GrabbedAnkle Academy. Stoopid prick.

18. You mean Cousin Brian? Puked in the copter?
I think he's Carm's cousin. Tony mentioned him last night when he told Carmela that he loaned the DeWalt (hand tool?) to Brian.

Adrianna is almost surely going to be whacked, but it seems a little early yet. Do you think Tony would make Chrissy do it?

Having AJ get mobbed up is Carmela's worst fear, but it could happen. If Tony and Carm were still together, there's no way Tony would let this happen, but with the current living arrangements, who can say?

BTW, does anyone miss Furio? I think Carm should go to Italy and hook up with him.

19. I think Chrissy would whack Ade premptively if he suspected
or found out she was an informant. And he's already detected her once this season (What are you, on the school paper?). I'm must saying...

I keep wondering if Furio is really in danger or if Tony told her he was to rankle her. Seems in keeping with his total prickedness.

I could see Tony taking AJ into the biz as the final fuck-you to Carmela, and he would delude himself with some "I'm gonna keep him near and keep him safe" B.S.

I've learned to expect the unexpected with the Sopranos, so the logic that Ade getting whacked is too early, well...Robert Loggia, big TV star, gone in three eps, y'know?

21. Yeah, a pre-emptive whack makes sense.
I never thought of that. It would sure help to cover/save Chrissy's ass. Good call.

I do think that Furio is in danger if Tony can ever get at him. Even though nothing happened between Carm and Furio, Tony's machismo could never just let this stand. I definitely think the hit's out on Furio.
Which is a shame - he was an interesting character.

24. I miss Season 3 Furio
I don't miss Season 4 Furio. That guy was a simp.

They've just about written "Maedo" out of the show, haven't they? Hooray!

I can see AJ getting messed up with the mob, but he's too dumb to get properly mobbed up. He makes Paulie and Christafah look like geniuses.

I thought the last bit with the homework was classic. AJ thought he'd be able to take advantage of the old man, but for a second, he got a look at Tony Soprano, mob boss. Just in the eyes. And he ran straight for his room.

That could actually work out for him in the long run. Can you imagine a better set of babysitters? These guys aren't going to let him do a thing Tony doesn't want him to do. He goes nowhere, does nothing, without a pair of Tony's eyes on him.

Just a thought...

And someone definitely gets bopped next week - or at least the previews hinted at it. I was thinking it was the Fibbie agent but it could be Ade.

27. all the critics
said somebody was major was supposed to get whacked in Episode 4, which didn't happen. Maybe Chase recut the episodes to throw everybody off, and the whacking happens next week?

I hope it's Adrianna or Carmela. I'm tired of both of them.

Or Janice. I didn't think she could get any more repulsive, but now she's adding in the worst elements of her mother, as well. Eewwwwww.

28. I agree
about Adriana getting clipped. It's just a matter of when. Someone's gotta find out. I also can't wait for Buscemi's character to develop more. He's one helluva an actor. Would love to see him get in the bidness. That's great news if it's true about another year after this one. I would agree about the very final episode about Tony being all alone, but that's already been done with GII. More likely to see everyone killed as a rival family takes over, like Little Carmine or Johnny Sack. Just whack them all, even Carm and the kids. I could see that as a final battle.
