what the correct English spelling is. He's quite fluent in English and French along with a local dialect.

Koran is the phoentic translation of it.

5. I'll go without the apostrophe.
In the '80s it seemed like Koran was the accepted spelling. Now it seems to have swung back to the more traditional Quran.

means that the English spellings are more or less subjective according to convertion.

foreign to english and the english spelling is therefore phonetic?
not fully a rhetorical question either. Its interesting to see accepted spellings for other similar cases.
