Cherry flavored anything; especially cherry ice creams (but real cherries I like)
Maraschino cherries
Garlic from a jar -- "Jarlick" -- just has that weird taste
Burnt garlic
Emeril's Essence
Kennedy Fried CHicken
Banana Splits
Ham steaks

7. Fake food made with chemicals instead of ingredients, white chocolate, bell peppers (mostly because
Edited on Wed Aug-18-10 05:27 PM by grace0418
I'm allergic to them), marshmallows, miracle whip (gag)...can't think of too much else.

I'm not crazy about beets, corn in things (love it on the cob though), strawberry/banana as a flavor combination, overripe bananas, milk chocolate (the darker the better for me), turnips, white rice, and oysters. However I've had all of these things in the right context/recipe and they were delicious.

Now ask me the foods I love and I could go on for days.

63. They are putting dihydrogen monoxide in almost everything these days
It can even be found in some so-called "organic" foods. I found out they even use this stuff as an industrial solvent, but now they are putting it in all sorts of foods. As if it weren't bad enough on it's own, they are even adding a known carcinogen, dichlorine, to it and people are consuming it in large quantities. It's almost impossible to avoid it.

Especially LIVER. My mother insisted that I swallow at least three bites. It Was Good For Me. I gagged, but managed.
I truly cannot believe anything that vile is good for you.
Oh yes...if good fresh Brussel Sprouts are cut in half and pan fried in olive oil with parmesan cheese, they're actually very very nice. My daughter has converted me.
I might backtrack on the Lima Beans, too, if someone could tell me how to cook them properly.

Hate 'em in all their nasty varieties. After that:

*Miracle Whip -- the semen of Satan
*Any meat in the category of entrails (liver, kidney, brains, sweetbreads, head cheese)
*Cauliflower
*Brussels sprouts
*Lima beans
*Oysters
*Sauerkraut
*Horseradish
*That awful, cloying sweet potato and marshmallow hot dish that gets inflicted on one at Thanksgiving
*Grits
*Artificial "grape" flavoring
*Whole trout or other fish served in one piece -- it's not the flavor; I just can't eat anything with eyes.

13. For the life of me, I don't know how anyone can hate lima beans.
I buy the one pound bags of frozen baby limas at Lucky.

0 mg cholesterol. 0 grams of fat. 6 grams of protein. 240 mg sodium (10% of daily value). And that's for the whole bag.

I usually put half a bag in the steamer basket of my National Rice Cooker. A little fresh ground black pepper on top, 25 minutes to steam (for some reason baby limas always take longer than the larger fordhook variety).

Sometimes I'll have them "as is" with a little Shedd's Spread mixed in. Other times I'll toss them with cooked angel hair pasta and olive oil.

Cheap! Delicious! Filling!

But yeah, I freely acknowledge that more than a few people hate them.

I pretty much like most other things. Specially veggies, and wow, so many people hate limas?? Hmmm, this confuses me. Limas are lovely beans. But olives?? - you might as well cut up little bits of rubber and put them on a plate and pretend that they're edible.

Totally disgusting. Can't believe that they grow on trees. No self-respecting tree would grow those things - it would hurl them straight into the pits of Hell. Nasty, nasty.

There are some exceptions (pepperoni pizza, Kraft Macaroni & cheese, but only that brand) but 90% of the time I do not like cheese! 62. Anything spicy, burny, or with tomato sauce.
I actually like most of the stuff on your "hate list". LOL

I don't like overly salty or overly sweet foods either.

79. Liver. My mom used to cook it with onions and bacon all the time when we were growing up. Yuck.
Brussel Sprouts taste much better now that I am an adult.

asparagus, any food item at McDonalds, beets, cauliflower, melon (the kind that's orange on the inside, not watermelon), sweet potatoes, pumpkin pie, and pizza with pineapples on it.

81. Mine aren't in order
Since I will eat most of them so long as they are prepared well, but I may still gag :O some are shamelessly stolen from previous posters, since their lists have jogged my memory.

Cooked green peas (love them raw, hate them cooked)
Lima beans
Brussel sprouts
most wild meats/venison
Canned salmon
Cow tongue (my grandmother used to make this)
Liver (only tried once. That was enough)
Maraschino cherries or fake flavored cherry anything
Shredded dried coconut
Olives - I heard these were an acquired taste so I try them every so often to see if I like them. I don't.
Eggplant
any sushi with seaweed wrap. I think I'm allergic. The fishy smell from the seaweed makes me wheeze.
Black licorice
Real mincemeat (blech!!)
Dates
most packaged 'snacks' for kids. My kids take them for lunch. I don't mind buying some of the sweeter kinds as a treat for them because I know *I* won't be touching them.
Dry wine. I hate it. Will only drink sweet and bubbly stuff.

There are a lot of foods I once hated that I now enjoy. Beets are one - pickled baby beets are very good for all you haters (lol) out there. I make my own borscht now and drown it in dill and sour cream and it's divine. I used to hate sweet peppers, but love them now. Especially grilled. yum. Zucchini was something I went from hating to loving quickly as an adult. I like cherry pie now, so long as the cherries are fresh, none of the canned pie filling shit. Loooooove curry now too, didn't like it as a kid. When my mom would sit me in front of my cooked green peas she would always make me eat them, saying, "When you are an adult, you will like them." Well, I grew to like other things, but still hate those peas! lol.

Actually I kind of like the taste of hot peppers, but my body does not. I get blisters from just touching them. Eating them is incredibly painful.

I love liver but I can't have it because of my tendency to get gout. I love beef liver with bunches of onions and chicken livers deep fried. Just wonderful. And brussel sprouts are sooo tasty.

I've been out to breakfast with people who absolutely SHOVEL this tasteless mash into their mouths....NO TASTE! unless you drown them with blueberry sauce or syrup or whatever you need to give them some...I don't know..TASTE? "Yes, waitress...I'll have a plate of bland cakes, and give me plenty of shit to pour on them please"
