1. You may be right...I also like "Groundhog Day"...
...but it's hard to beat lines like "Bark like a dog for me...I will show you the meaning of respect..."

and how he really has been in some incredible movies. My favorite is Groundhog Day. I also loved Mr. Scrooge.

Rodney Dangerfield drove in and OWNED the rest of that movie.

17. Absolutely!
"Oh, this is the worst-looking hat I ever saw. What, when you buy a hat like this I bet you get a free bowl of soup, huh? Oh, it looks good on you though."

"Oh, this your wife, huh? A lovely lady. Hey baby, you must've been something before electricity."

Of course, plenty of sports fans remember Bill's "commentary" when he's lopping the tops off those flowers

38. +1.
I'm sorry, but Murray's performance was grossly overrated. He didn't make me laugh once in that movie. Rodney, on the other hand, was hilarious from start to finish.

8. Stripes
Cut it out! Cut it out! Cut it out! The hell's the matter with you? Stupid! We're all very different people. We're not Watusi. We're not Spartans. We're Americans, with a capital 'A', huh? You know what that means? Do ya? That means that our forefathers were kicked out of every decent country in the world. We are the wretched refuse. We're the underdog. We're mutts! Here's proof: his nose is cold! But there's no animal that's more faithful, that's more loyal, more loveable than the mutt. Who saw "Old Yeller?" Who cried when Old Yeller got shot at the end? ...Nobody cried when Old Yeller got shot? I'm sure.... I cried my eyes out. So we're all dogfaces, we're all very, very different, but there is one thing that we all have in common: we were all stupid enough to enlist in the Army. We're mutants. There's something wrong with us, something very, very wrong with us. Something seriously wrong with us - we're soldiers. But we're American soldiers! We've been kicking ass for 200 years! We're 10 and 1! Now we don't have to worry about whether or not we practiced. We don't have to worry about whether Captain Stillman wants to have us hung. All we have to do is to be the great American fighting soldier that is inside each one of us. Now do what I do, and say what I say. And make me proud.

21. Scrooged got buried in the avalanche of Christmas movies,
but I think it's the best interpretation of the Christmas Carol, ever. Murray's final speech is the best Christmas homily, ever.

15. Regarding Caddyshack...
I heard that they only had Bill for three days of shooting. I think this makes Bill's performance even more amazing.

The best scene is well...they are all good.

I particularly liked when he is golfing flowers with his hoe. Oh...and when he and Chevy are in his cave...priceless.

Hey,
I love the guy and really wish he would do more movies. I really have a hard time picking one, but I did love his performance in Caddyshack. Sports Illustrated recently had an article with some "interviews" from the major players. You will never think of Rodney the same way after reading it.

peace

and then made this incredible sad moment really powerful but still funny... he is an artist.

Has to be that. Even Richard Dreyfus couldn't stand him in that movie, for real. But he was so funny in that role.

I'd also throw in his cameo in "Zombieland"--totally out of the blue.
