1. Get thee to Austin.
Can't swing a deceased feline without hitting one there. Or any of the urban counties for that matter. Dallas, Harris, Bexar, Travis, El Paso....

6. I am not a Dallas expert, sadly.
I spent 20 years in the San Antonio area and 8 more in Austin. I'm now in WA state.

Try the Texas forum. At least you know the people there live in state.

13. Dallas is one of the 'liberal' areas of the state
San Antonio, Houston, El Paso are the other major ones.

I'm moving to Lubbock in September!
But I'm moving with my girlfriend, so I'm really not available.

So while I can't help you with the "need a man" part, I'm (and she's) helping with the "liberal in Texas" part.

:hi:

8. There are a few of us 50 something Texas liberals around, I think....
The trick is finding an unattached one.

Good luck in your quest!

10. Come to Houston!
It's more liberal than even Austinites realize ;)

Bill White, future Gov. of Texas, was our mayor and now we have Annise Parker, a lesbian, as mayor. Austin's not liberal enough to do that yet :P

12. As far as suggestions, you may still have to visit the Texas forum.
I know there's a "Drinking Liberally" group, but I've never gone, as I'm not much of a drinker ;)

You might also look at Meetup.com and see what's available. I'm in a belly dance meetup group (as a fan, not a dancer!) and the same owner of the group has one for those individuals that are "child-free". Another place to look around before coming in would be The Houston Press :)

14. Men are overrated
well, people are overrated

Don't let your age dictate where you should be in life or what you should have in life. Make yourself happy and when you're happy you'll draw people to you... sometimes even some good ones.

(I say this on my birthday, as a 40-something woman who just broke up w/ her fiance)
