Dog baths vs Cat baths
Look at these Google Images of dog baths.

http://www.google.com/images?client=safari&rls=en&q=dog%20bath&oe=UTF-8&um=1&ie=UTF-8&source=og&sa=N&hl=en&tab=wi&biw=1128&bih=738

It's remarkable how calm, happy and compliant that these wonderful pooches are.

A clean dog is a happy dog.

Now compare that with these Google pictures of cats being bathed:

http://www.google.com/images?um=1&hl=en&newwindow=1&safe=off&client=safari&rls=en&biw=1128&bih=738&tbs=isch%3A1&sa=1&q=cat+bath&aq=f&aqi=g3&aql=&oq=&gs_rfai=

Have you EVER seen a bigger collection of miserable looking critters? We're talking pure, unmitigated Hell here.

Well, anyway it ONLY goes to show that dogs trust you and don't mind being cleaned and cats would rather kill you if they could in the same situation.

1. Cats are rather good at bathing themselves.
I have yet to see a cat go and DELIBERATELY get themselves dirty like a dog will...

3. oh you need to watch my Mamakitty
she deliberately goes out in the yard and rolls in dirt and yard trash then comes back in and gets it all over my bed.

and cats are disgustingly dirty - put a light colored sheet or pillowcase on a favorite lurking spot and then check back in a few days...:puke:

14. my cat has never been outside, she is very clean
I bottle raised her. Bathed her a lot when she was tiny, to get the urine smell off of her. She is beautiful. Just had her spayed.

8. They both are unpleasant
My dog acts like it's the end of world and I'm torturing her to death. My other dog used to brace his paws against the door jam whenever we tried to carry him to the bathroom.
But of course when they see a lake or the beach, being wet is the best thing ever!

15. Yep, my dog goes all passive resistance on me so I can't pick him up.
Either that or he hides in his crate and I have to go in after him.

11. Cat baths are fun
You can laugh at your cat when wetted down

Granted my love for cats involves taking them down a notch in their heads...

18. Never bathed a cat (my survival instinct is too strong) but have you
noticed that a newly bathed dog will try to find something smelly to roll in?

20. I give my cat a bath once a summer or so to help him shed his extra fur. He's fine with it.
He doesn't love it but he behaves himself because he gets a treat afterward.
