I will replant, but this tree was pretty.

A lot of birds nested in it every spring.

Tried to save it but Hurricane Ike had another victim.

I saved the wood, it was pecan tree.

It was big tree, lots of bbq wood.

A friend of mine took the big pieces and will make a table for me.

Just call me a tree hugger.

1. I know how you feel
My mom told me the pretty crab apple tree that grew outside my bedroom window died before it bloomed this spring. My family moved to that house in the spring of 1955, when I was 5, and it wasn't a baby tree then, so I know the tree was at least my age.

That's good that you'll have a table made from your tree... sounds like the book"The Giving Tree". I'm a tree hugger, too!

2. It was old pecan tree.
Neighbors in their 80's remember the tree big when they were little kids.

The guy that ownes the tree company took some of pecan wood and that saved a lot of money.

I still have lots of pecan wood left.

The table will look really nice, the guy making the table is a craftsman.

Sorry to hear about your childhood tree, trees are special.

I hope the old tree understood I didn't it any harm.

3. Plant another one. All just part of the cycle of life. Plant two.
Give them a few years, and they will be big and beautiful, too.
