Retro music. Who's your fave/most missed 80's - 90's band?
Right now I'm listening to some Cars. Just in the mood suddenly. Don't know where it came from, but I'm going down the list on YouTube and, I dunno, what time does "Facts of Live" come on again?

Tangent:

Incidentally, YouTube has become my fave source for music I want to hear when I want to hear it. I have yet to search for a song that crops up in the chaos that is my mind and not find it on YouTube. Free music, and no risk of the malware you can get from Limewire or Frostwire...

Return from tangent:

So I got Cars going, but I need some of their contemporaries. I think I'm gonna move to Pat Benetar for a minute or two, but what comes after that? Who is your fave retro band?

58. Business as Usual was the first album I actually bought!
I was 12 and had 10 dollars I'd saved up to spend at the local record store. I remember it so vividly. I still love that album even after 28 years. Great memories.

13. My favorite from Everlast is with Santana--
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5di5EhZshdQ&feature=related

Mostly because Santana is one of my guitar-gods. But I like how "What it's Like"'s lyrics give so much perspective. It's like a quick tutorial on seeing how others live. Real perceptive.

Fire and Ice, You Better Run, and Hell is for Children.

She was the evolution of Heart, I think. Though, Heart is one of a kind.

Even after all these years "Version 2.0" is my favorite album of all time and one of the few I can listen to from start to finish. Their last two albums were pretty mediocre as they seemed to try to distance themselves from the fact their super-star producers.

01). The Alarm / Rain In The Summertime
02). Bananarama / Cruel Summer
03). The Call / Everywhere I Go
04). The Power Station / Get It On (Bang A Gong)
05). Chequered Past / Are You Sure Hank Done It This Way

53. It's a song I would consider to be "emblematic" of that era...
...as the late Michael Bloomfield once said, music is the soundtrack of your life. If I listen to that song right now (and I did, earlier today), it puts me right back into the time in which it was recorded...I immediately get that mindset.
