2. I played the "Elephant Parts" VHS tape until it fell apart
It was exciting to experience Nesmith's "Second Renaissance"...the whole post-Monkees "First National Band" era was great, but who would have thought that there would be a third wave, the "Radio Engine To A Photon Wing / Infinite Rider On The Big Dogma / Elephant Parts" era?

4. A movie could be done on his life. And the most interesting parts...
...are post Monkees.

5. I think he's the only one of the four who knew exactly what he wanted on Day 1.
If you look at the two box sets from the Monkees "Listen To The Band" and "Music Box"), plus the three volumes of "Missing Links," you can see that Nesmith went to Nashville and used all of those musicians who would later become "The First National Band," under the PREMISE of cutting a couple of tracks for the next Monkees album (which he DID), but while he was there, he also cut plenty of tracks for HIMSELF...

...and there have been a couple of books on Nesmith, with varying degrees of credibility, but the one thing that's never been argued is the fact that he knew what he wanted and he just reached out and TOOK it. Yeah, his mother invented Liquid Paper, and he got a windfall of cash from that, but I'm of the belief that he would have done what he did anyway, inheritance or not. The man had / has vision, along with the courage to fulfill it.

:toast:
