You can take comfort in that while at the same time missing her terribly.

If it helps, I've found that time can help heal in that the feeling of
overwhelming loss is offset by a realization that the folks I miss are
still here in my heart and in my head -- I eventually can even "talk"
to them, inasmuch as I think, "What would Carl (or Noreen, etc.) have
had to say about this?" or think how much something would have made
them laugh -- I can "hear" them sometimes -- and my loss is lessened
each time.

Right now I can hear one of my favorite people who is no longer "with"
us calling me an "old fool" -- she was probably 30 years my senior and
I loved hearing that.

I am just back from the memorial service for three friends who were killed in an auto accident last week. A mother, father, son and son-in-law all taken out in an instant in a senseless accident. Please remember the good times and know she lives on in your heart.

When I was a kid, we lived in Thailand. Once went to the Bridge on the River Kwai, the famous site where so many Allied troops lost their lives. I remember vividly a tombstone there, it said "Those who live on in our hearts will never die."

Well, my mom is a big photography buff, and she took a pic of that. May be odd, but I treasure that photo now. Someone, some family somewhere, maybe they've seen that, maybe it's given them peace. I don't know. But the message gives me peace, cause death is painful, for those of us left behind.
