I just figured something out.

Many of you have seen Usual Suspects. In it the bad guys figure out how to do it without killing anyone. Although I think that movie is a bit backwards in places.

Also in the movie about objects the Lost Room, a lady says she is part of bad and does not kill people. But again the symbolism is backwards in many places.

Then even in Harry Harrison Novel, the morality of that book has no killing. Again a morality that has a bit of rationalizations to it, but I do like the novels.

I think I know where that concept comes from, the book of Job, where bad things could do anything they want but could not kill Job. I would guess that is the idea behind that.

I don't have to agree with the ideas behind many of those stories, but I can see the common footprint in the story. Many stories have common themes, and I think the theme of treating people badly, but not killing them, comes from the story of Job.

Note that in many stories many elements of different ideas are mixed and matched, making many good things with bad things also. Also many good things are compared or symbolized with bad, and bad symbolized with good.

So many ways to see things, it is fascinating.

1. And in certain cases, the exact opposite may also be true.

2. Hmmm, are you saying.
In some cases, people can be given everything, and then killed?

4. What is the opposite of fascinating?

ahh, are you saying its boring?

I think boring is relative, and when you got no cash for beer and smokes, it is amazing what you can find for entertainment.

5. Oh sorry, I meant the sentence above that one.
I should have made myself a bit clearer.

6. You might have to explain what the opposite of that would be.

7. Well I thought that the opposite might simply be a simple switching around of a few key words.
You put:

"Note that in many stories many elements of different ideas are mixed and matched, making many good things with bad things also. Also many good things are compared or symbolized with bad, and bad symbolized with good."

And I was just thinking that you could say something like this:

"Note that in many ideas different stories of elements are matched and mixed, making many bad things with good things also. Also many bad things are symbolized or compared with good, and bad symbolized with good."

See how it changes things? It seems kind of opposite, when you look at it my way.

You may have a differing view. And that is just fine.

8. The stories of Jimmy DiGriz often parallel the story of Job.
Intentional?
