How many here shop at dollar stores?
I haven't been to Wally World (Wal-Mart) in months.

I shop at the dollar store called "Big Lots" that's only a few blocks from my place.

Not for groceries though.
I go to "Pick and Save" (Roundy's affiliate) for those.

4. There's good and bad dollar stores...
.
.
.
.
.
.
...one of the latter being "Family Dollar Store" where
almost NOTHING is a dollar.
.
.
.
.
.
.
Unreachable for me now by bus, I used to live near and
go to one that had GREAT produce and frozen foods and
other quality items for a BUCK -- couldn't figure out
how some of the merch could be sold like that.
.
Now go mainly for certain household products and reading
glasses -- I lose them and sit or roll over on them often,
so a dollar pair won't make me snivel and curse.
.
.
.
There's a classic Intertubes post out there where someone
says they love the dollar store because they can dress
casual -- they don't have to get dressed up like when
they go to WalMart.
.

7. You would be amazed at how much "Made in USA" stuff there is in a Dollar Tree.
Most of the glassware is made by the Indiana Glass Company. You can sometimes find things like Mirado "Black Warrior" 100% Cedar pencils (best damn pencils I've ever found). At Easter, I get US made basket grass - made from recycled paper. Sure, a lot of the stuff is made in China, but if check the tags you'll be shocked at how much is US made.

9. I shop at the Dollar Tree a couple of times a month.
I usually go in on Saturday to get the Sunday paper for $1.00! :)

I get some dog toys in there occasionally. I buy their cleaning products for school-- they are comparable to the name brands. And they often have name brand snack foods like Pringles, Bugles, etc. They have a lot of good health and beauty products, too.

10. Just don't look at the nutrition info on the Bugles.
The saturated fat is beyond belief.

11. Thanks.
If the sodium doesn't get you, the saturated fat will! :hi:
