a question for yoga devotees
I'm starting a yoga class on Saturday. I don't have any leotards - actually, I wouldn't wear leotards, or any other skintight thing. I'm going to wear a t-shirt and light sweats, or maybe shorts.

Will I be kicked out?

1. You're going to be bending over a lot
so make sure your t-shirt will stay tucked in your pants. I learned this the hard way. :)

2. thank you
Untucked keeps you cooler, so that's what I would've done. I will now tuck. I don't want to be embarrassed...

3. If you're kicked out for non-conforming clothes ...
... then you want a different class.

Just remember, if your instructor uses the word "namaste", the proper reply is "bite me".

:hi:

No, seriously, am I supposed to reply to "namaste?" What's the reply?

7. Thanks for correcting this
my smart-ass response would bring undeserved bad karma down on an innocent BerthaVenation.

However, my response is somehow more satisfying at the end of a yoga class when I'm sore, sweaty, exhausted, and a little embarassed that I am nowhere near as flexible as any of the other participants. If I put my hands together in a prayer-like position and mumble "bite me, Buddha", it's just my icing on the yogic cake. Yeah, yeah, I'll pay in some future life, no doubt.

:hi:

6. Sweats are good, wear anything allowing the teacher can check your alignment
I used to pass a lot of gas in yoga class and I was never kicked out........
