Poll question: First Non-European or South American team to win the World Cup?

It will happen eventually. I just took the top nine non European or South American teams in their May 2010 FIFA rankings.

1. Minor quibble: Believe it or not, Israel is considered a European team.
Geography aside, they play in UEFA, likely because their neighbors won't allow them into the Asian federation.

And how is Ghana ranked only 32nd? (I imagine that will change shortly.)

2. Thanks - didn't realize that about Israel
I had only googled Ukraine to see if they were Asia or Europe and they are Europe. Ukraine is rated fairly high as well...I had assumed Israel was part of Asia or Africa.
