hold your mouth open over his neck, like an alpha male/female would
do so that in older age, he's clear on who the big dog is?

Yes, we've established dominance, and he's cool with it (I'm a benevolent dictator). He can reach the table, but knows to wait until we give him anything on it. We've had a couple of discussions on tha subject already...:P
