As a fellow stickler, I see this as a palette cleansing. I see so much mangling of the language (most of it by morans at teabagger events) each week, that intentional mangling for the sake of a laugh helps to clear the mind and set a bit of perspective.

Rex Harrison's line from My Fair Lady about English is spot on: "In America, they haven't spoken it for years."
