Gah. I start a job Tuesday that requires me to be in at 6:45...

Which means I'll probably have to get up at 5:45 to provide me ample time to get ready and drive to it.

The last time I was consistently up at that hour was back in HS (and that was up at around 7:00, not 5-whatever).

God help me!

1. my deepest sympathy
I feel your pain. My shifts are all over the clockface, but there's one that requires me to wake at 5 and start at 6. Personally, I'm more comfortable with going to bed at 5.

I often find it difficult to sleep the night before, but if you're doing it every day I guess you'll fall into the rhythm of it.

3. This is what sucks the most...
I normally go to bed around 4 or 5 in the morning. I am a total night owl and I don't know how the hell I'm going to manage going to bed that early.

Of course, like you said, it's about getting into the rhythm of it. The first night will be tough, but maybe by the second night, I'll be so exhausted (no naps, I guess), I just collapse into bed around 10 or 11.

4. Congrats on the job
As a night owl I feel your pain. I could barely get to my morning class last year at 9:30 AM. After that, I never signed up for a class before noon. Last semester my classes were all scheduled at a decent time - at 6 PM. :D

5. My freshman year of college I had an English class at 8.
Or 8:30. I don't quite remember. It was just really early. I got up around 7:00. But back then the class was only 50 minutes or so and after I'd go plop down in front of the television in the union building and sleep for an hour or two until my next class (which, I believe, was communications).

I miss those days. I remember sitting on that couch when Rick Majerus retired and then being there when John Ritter died. :(

6. Congrats on the Job..
I am lucky that I work at home, and set my own hours. I have a few friends who have been looking for jobs for months now, and they are not so lucky, and worried about their unemployment running out. At least you don't have to deal with that.

Do your best now, Ganbatteyo!

7. I had a job that required me to be up at 3:30. I kinda enjoyed how quiet the city was
at that hour. Not being in traffic makes you feel really good.

8. I worked summers after high school and first two years of college
at a hospital job that started at 7:00 a.m. The worst part was pulling 6 days in a row.

Congrats on the job!

:hi:

10. I'm forced to get up at 5:55 every day so I feel your pain
There is no reason for the world to start before 10:30. I've been pissed about this for decades.

11. You'll get used to it.
I routinely have to take a 0445 ferry into work, and as a (former) night owl, that took a little getting used to.

You might even start to enjoy it a little!
