1. Press the key multiple times...
A - "2"
B - "22"
C - "222"
etc.

3. D would be 3
E = 33
F = 333

If you want to change between Caps and lowercase, try pushing the # key (there should be an up arrow in it).
That should toggle an icon on your screen between ABC, abc, and Abc.

ABC = all letters will be caps
abc = all letters will be lower case
Abc = first letter of each sentence will be Caps.

11. That's one possible way... Some phones try to guess the word.
For example, if you want to type "cat", you type "228" and it will give you the most frequent word, probably cat, first, followed by other words such as "bat". If that's not what you want, then there should be an option in the phone to select a different word. Normally, as you use the cell phone, it starts to anticipate the words you use most frequently and give you those first.

Personally, I find those to be a pain. I'm waiting for my contract to expire so I can get an Android phone - it has a touch-screen, and when you're texting or otherwise typing, it gives you an on-screen QWERTY keyboard.

4. For me, your OP reads like:
333 555-66-77-777 33-888-777 55-999 ... and so on. I have an iPhone, fortunately.

5. It's a tricky process.
You'll need a 9-volt battery, three slices of bologna, a spatula, and some Miracle Grow. Let me know when you've got those ready to go.

9. they still make those?
I thought every phone had a qwerty keyboard. I would just not text. Too much work, leave a voicemail or just talk to the person.

12. It's perplexing that phones without keyboards still exist
However, I'm typing this from a keyboard laid out on the basis of the intricacies of engineering a mechanical typewriter which wouldn't jam, I guess people can get used to anything.
