My choice would be: ascribers to Mike Myer's style of comedy which believes the more something is repeated, the funnier it gets.

is that their music is somehow 'elitist' because it asks of the listener, "Please pay attention to this, because it's complicated and interesting".

That's elitism.

Change "elitist snobs" to "people so artistically ignorant they might as well live in a Winnebago parked in a WalMart parking lot and lose their teeth to WalMart-brand 'cola' which they drink by the gallon", and I'll vote for that one.

Or maybe change it to "artlessly clueless assclowns who think American Idol is the height of artistic expression".

I was just wondering if you liked 90125 & Big Generator. Lot's of prog fans don't, and consider those albums to be no more progressive than Rush or Asia. I like all phases of Yes, and I like lots of songs by Rush as well.

I like simple, low-fi indiepop. Probably the furthest you could get from a band like Rush.

29. I was being tongue in cheek about my impeccable taste ( though it is). I fully agree

that Rush are very fine professional musicians. Their stuff ( and I certainly haven't heard a lot of what they've recorded) just doesn't do anything for me, if not often annoys me, but that's just me. There are lots and lots of bands out there like that. I objectively recognize their talent but for whatever reason, the music they create is just not anything I enjoy listening to. ( I know, I'm getting too serious on a not serious thread, but I do get annoyed at people who insult other's musical tastes in a cutting or demeaning way here sometimes).

I mean, I know some of us are as kind as we can possibly be to a group with no musicality and lyrics that sound like a junior high C student's concept of profundity, but really, we try to respect their fans by understating the unarguable. That's not bashing, that's letting them down gently.
