guys... do i have to make a big deal of an anniversary for hubby to feel loved?
another day in my book. this is the first one in 16 yrs i remembered. was going to actually do something, but hey, cant get rid of the kids....

is it the end of the world if there is just a little honoring, favorite dinner and some play?

must it be a production.

*sigh*

1. I thought women wanted the big production?
Guys are usually happy with getting some action...

2. that is what they say, but cant always believe. i did a poll on valentines by gender
who is romantic in the relationship. surprisingly more men were romantic souls than females.

hence, why i am asking. is this a hidden thing i am not aware of, lol.

i am thinking you are right. i am going with your answer.

3. Maybe you just ran into
a lot of romantic men? Has your husband gotten upset in the past when you forgot your anniversary?

5. ah.... it has always been such a mess having aniv at beginning of june
i had babies right away, and then i would have nieces and nephews here for different reasons.... all babies, so wasnt surprising i would forget at the beginning. then end of school year, and i would forget. then became a joke. and anyway, i never know what day it is. lol. how do i know when the third is. i can barely remember what the year is.

it has always been a joke. i was so proud this morning remembering, hubby still said, beat ya. as soon as i oopened eyes. but now that i remember i am feeling guilty i dont make a big deal out of.

7. Since I've been divorced since 1976, I'm probably not the person
you want to ask for this type of advice, but Congratulations and Happy Anniversary to you and your husband.

9. I nice dinner and a sincere hug would do it for me - we made each other cards
and had king crab legs at home.(Our 17th last March.)

Oh, yeah - congratulations and many more happy ones!

i have let it go. i try, .... and it doesnt work. so it is what it is.

10. Speaking for myself, "a little honoring" can be done away with, "favorite dinner" is ok as long as
it doesn't interfere with "some play"!! In fact the first two could be eliminated as long as there is "some play."

i put the honoring in for those that might lecture me on needing to do more. i did tell him, thanks for marrying me, this morning. that was the honoring.

gottcha. the point. the main emphasis of your post.

20. Although a nice merlot goes great with nookie!
I would recommend some gorgonzola, extra-sharp cheddar, dill havarti, and fresh baked bread, but that might result in unpleasant crumbs in the bed. Best to do that in front of the fireplace if you have one.

23. I'm not a guy
and it was always my husband who remembered our marriage anniversaries and the anniversary of our first meeting, that I always completely forgot and I so regret that now that he is gone. Show your husband how much you love him in your own way. After 16 years together, I'm sure he will recognize it.

Happy anniversary seabeyond!

hugs to you woman.

i think you hit it perfectly. all the time, all year long, i let him know how much i value and appreciate and love him

"Show your husband how much you love him in your own way. After 16 years together, I'm sure he will recognize it."

thank you. you are right, he does. i get caught up in others expectation, and i can never accomplish others expectations, lol.

Edited on Thu Jun-03-10 06:12 PM by tigereye
since it always seems to fall on a night when we are too tired to go out! :)

We did have a recent getaway- high- end B and B with whirlpool and fireplace and everything, while the kiddo was away on his school trip.

Happy Anniversary sea! :toast:

26. Not in my experience. Cook some steaks on the grill and buy a pretty nighty
for yourself and he'll think that was the best anniversary ever. With the caveat that you put that pretty nighty to use when you go to bed.
