1. Many adults are too.
I have never understood the vampire craze, past or present. Just doesn't appeal to me.

3. It's romance, sex, immortality, alienation all rolled into one.
If you're the vampire, you're different, not like everyone else. It's a lonely life, emotionally intense, with an uncontrollable need to commit an intimate and dangerous act. If you're the "victim" you are irresistable, chosen, flirting with undergoing a metamorphosis into something you want to be but don't really understand.

Vampires, teenagers, same thing!

5. I don't know. Maybe because they fear death.

7. I have absolutely no idea.
What really ticks me off, are the ones who claim they REALLY are vampires. My response to that is...

"Well, let me get some wooden stakes, and a mallet, and see what happens when I stick this stake right through you. Do you turn to dust, or just die screaming like any other mortal? "

8. Because most teenagers ARE vampires.
They suck the life out of you, they think they're going to live forever, and they expect everyone around them to serve them on command.

But, as the parent of two teenagers, I may be a bit biased in my opinions ;)

9. I think Buffy the Vampier Slayer was the best representation of the genre.
The monsters that haunt us,the monster inside us, etc. All the Fruedian stuff.

10. This is a great question?
My family is from Transylvania (yes folks there really is a place called Transylvania). Why is it that all the "teenage" vampires look anorexic (?) If you know anything about real vampire lore this is a very sad lifestyle.

11. I don't know.
What I do know is that any of Anne Rice's vampires would kick their silly twilight asses but good.

13. Why is EVERYONE fascinated with violence, human cockfighting, the mafia, gangster rap and bullying?
Human nature, I guess, to want to be part of something dangerous we're unfamiliar with; whether it brings harm to others or not.

Myself, I like the old Vlad Tepes legends, especially the Florescu/McNally book and their woodcut translations.

14. Neo-Rebel With A Cause...
Neo-Rebel Without A Cause...

I think that in many cases, teens are drawn to the iconic, sullen, cool, outsider that no one "gets" except his few friends and (insert love-interest here). The "heart-of-gold" interior and tough exterior.

Since the motorcycle's been done to death, I guess Madison Avenue amped it up a bit and replaced the bike with bat-wings.

15. Sleep all day, party all night
Never get old, never have to study for an algebra test or pick up their room.

Hell, I'd still want to be a vampire! For one thing, I could scare the shit out of my former boss.

16. When I read Interview with the Vampire by Anne Rice years ago
I wanted to become a vampire too. there was something very sensual and yet sad about that story. It wasn't about blood-sucking. The sequels weren't as good (IMO).
