Poll question: I never saw ANY of Lost. Am I poorer for it?
It never looked interesting. Kind of like Seinfeld and Sex In the City.

Or am I just living in a cultural desert?

1. I saw three episodes...
didn't watch any more. I agree with you about Seinfeld, but I did like Sex in the City.

2. I loved the shoes but there were too many mommy wannabees
Was in NYC this weekend and just hated the "mommies".

Strollers, yoga mats and brats.

3. Rent the first few episodes
Watch 4-5 of them, and if you're bored don't watch any more.

4. Thanks for the suggestion.
But no.

For me Lost and most TV these days is, I think, like watching Abramovic at MOMA.

6. I tried to watch it a couple of times,
but I didn't try until about the 12th episode, and I couldn't make sense of it. I think it must be one series that you really have to see from the very beginning, or else a lot of it has no meaning. I tried watching it again a year later, with the same results. I watched the last 20 minutes of the finale, to "see how it ended" anyway, and it still didn't really make much sense. I think it's essentially a mystery show, and with that type of drama you have to start from the beginning and take it all in, you can't just pick it up at any point.

7. I remember watching Twin Peaks and loving it.
And that was a "mystery show" as well.

Maybe if they'd let David Lynch direct Lost I'd feel differently.

9. This is difficult to admit
but LOST may have supplanted Twin Peaks as my favorite show ever.

Both of them rely heavily on dream logic, and I really dig that.

What LOST lacks in ambience, it more than makes up for in characters and quantity. You should check it out.

11. When I get the time and energy, I may
But I think that Photoshop 4 is calling me.

And a re-reading of Lord of the Rings.

And maybe even my guitar.

8. It was a really unique show, and in some ways difficult to follow.
I missed a whole season and after that I always felt confused. Very original, well written, creative storytelling with good acting. And the scenery was gorgeous. Nice break from all the cop, medical, and psychic shows, which is all that's left of non-reality TV.

10. I didn't either.
I did see a scene or two passing by someone's tv. I remember it was very green looking.

12. Woody green or tinny green.
That's important.

I think I didn't bother because no one on the show knew where their towel was.

15. I know some strict Pentecostals who never watched it or any other tv shows
and they consider themselves better and more self righteous than anybody on DU. So when it comes to not watching tv they are one up on all of us.

My guess is that there are people who do not like chocolate and cannot understand how anyone would ever want to eat it. Such is life.
