5. I haven't watched a single minute of it...

(edited to add the words "of the characters")
.
.
.
...and am utterly confused for a while when I wander into a thread
that doesn't clearly identify itself as a "Lost thread" or a "Twilight
thread", or a "24 thread", etc. etc. etc.
.
The names of the characters mean nothing to me, so I cast about
blindly for a while trying to find whatever common social knowledge it
is that I've (ahem) lost until it finally strikes me that it's a part of pop
culture (and so many in here don't bother to keep themselves up-to-date
with pop culture -- ESPECIALLY TV pop cultural items -- not elitist,
just different interests).
.
Do us ignants a favor and label your post with whatever the social
reference IS so that we don't waste our time trying to decipher
something we never WILL be able to decipher.
.
Thanks in advance for that consideration.

16. Never saw a minute of it. Did I miss anything?
I don't have the attention span to keep up with a show week after week, year after year.

To those who like that, great, have fun.

I just never had any interest (and I didn't have much TV reception, either).

Edited on Mon May-24-10 01:01 AM by Drunken Irishman
If you missed a couple episodes, you weren't totally lost. There was rarely a story arc, just a bunch of shit happening each episode that resulted in a fancy ending.

Edited on Mon May-24-10 07:51 AM by Blue_Tires
but here is my all-time list of recent popular or critically lauded shows EVERYONE except for me has watched:

Never seen a single episode:

House, ER, pretty much any hospital or doctor-related tv show that came after "Doogie Howser M.D."
Lost
The Wire
Six Feet Under
Mad Men
24
Desperate Housewives
True Blood
Dexter
Deadwood
The Shield
Breaking Bad
Arrested Development
The West Wing
Curb Your Enthusiasm
30 Rock
the list goes on...

Shows that I've maybe seen 2-3 episodes, but didn't like enough to keep watching:
Heroes
NYPD Blue
Law and Order
The Sopranos

47. you're missing some good tv in arrested development, the west wing and six feet under
i'm not much of a television person (haven't had cable in two years and didn't really watch network tv for the four or five years before that), but those shows are brilliantly written. i lost interest in the west wing the last few seasons; they weren't bad, but they weren't nearly as good as the first three or four seasons. i'm just now getting to arrested development and it's hilarious.

The most intriguing thing to me when I watched the first episode was the plane crash and how they showed it from the perspectives of different characters.

After that, I just didn't care to find out why a polar bear was on a tropcial island.

56. I didn't watch a single episode. Just didn't attract me.
The only dramatic series I've been faithful to in recent years is Six Feet Under. I couldn't stick with the Sopranos after the first year because the characters were so real to me I couldn't bear seeing them killed. (Not even the absolute villains.) Mad Men does nothing for me either.

Couldn't follow it, so I never went back.

Instead, I'm watching Ashes to Ashes on British import DVDs. It's the sequel to the (original) Life on Mars, and judging from what I read about its final episode, it's stunning.
