I am sick of the warm, humid weather here in Fargo!
For the past 2 weeks there has been a persistent SW to NE jet stream across the midsection of the country, sucking hot and humid air from the Gulf all the way up here. And the resident manager of my apparent building still hasn't switched the building from heat to A/C. :grr: this heat has definitely had a negative impact on my mood, I've been cranky all last week.

1. close your eyes, and remember how freaking cold you were in January
the blowing snow, plugging in the car, walking like a penguin becuase of the ice. I do that whenever it gets hot and humid.

8. I actually PREFER the cold!
You can keep putting on layers of clothing, but you can't keep on taking them off! I'm strangely hot-blooded, even for a Fargoan; I've walked to school with my coat unzipped when it was 25F! Cool weather invigorates me, while heat makes me lethargic.

2. HUMID?!!! In FARGO?
Gosh, Odin, that sounds like final proof of climate change. I was born in North Dakota, (a thousand years ago) and all my family are from there. We moved to Philadelphia when I was little and all our visiting relatives would come and stay in the summer and all carried on about the terrible humidity here. They would all say that at least in North Dakota, "it's a DRY heat."
I've dealt with the hideous humidity of Philadelphia in the summer for a long time...I am really sympathetic to your plight.
Here's hoping your air conditioning goes on soon.
Fans help, if you sit very still in front of one.
Cheers.

7. Yesterday morning it felt like a morning in the tropics.
Earlier this spring, we had a very warm April, but it felt very nice because the humidity was extremely low (25% or so)

The humidity is back to a normal level (dew point of 50F) because a weak, decaying cold front came through last night, but that south wind is supposed to come back and make things humid again next week! :grr:

I've heard that the humidity has been just AWFUL east of the Mississippi because of the north-blowing jet stream!

9. Anywhere in the world that is both cool and dry? That would be my ideal place.
Maybe some desert highlands somewhere?

6. It might be relative.
.
MiddleFingerMomMom (a different type of relative), who was born and raised in
the TRULY humid area of Philadelphia, used to complain to me (after they retired
and moved) when the humidity in Arizona would hit the BEASTLY level of 40%.
.
I, having moved to said Philadelphia area, always thought it to be one of those
simultaneous LOL and STFU moments.
.

11. The humidity around here can vary A LOT!
It cam be oppressively muggy one hour, and then a strong cold front bearing T-storms can come through and it's cool and dry a couple hours later. I remember a few summer ago I went a friends house before a cold front came through, it was hot and muggy, and when I left a couple hours later it was cooler and A LOT drier!
