Former ML pitcher, Jose Lima, dead at 37 of heart attack
Lima, 37, died of heart attack, wife says

By Enrique Rojas
ESPNdeportes.com

NEW YORK -- Former All-Star right-hander Jose Lima died Sunday morning at his home in Los Angeles at the age of 37.

The cause of death was ruled a heart attack, according to his wife, Dorca Astacio.

"Jose was complaining while sleeping and I just thought he was having a nightmare," Astacio told ESPNdeportes.com. "I called the paramedics, but they couldn't help him."

Lima was 89-102 in 13 seasons with the Detroit Tigers, Houston Astros, Kansas City Royals, Los Angeles Dodgers and New York Mets.

5. The year the Mariners won
116 games, they lost to Jose at Comerica. I grew up in Detroit and live near Seattle so I try to arrange my summer trips home to coincide with the baseball schedule and that year I got both my teams. Jose was on his game and beat the M's............... too bad.

2. Aw. Sad.
He was the Dodgers modern playoff MVP for years. What I remember about him is that he liked to party and he liked to dance. Someone who likes fun stuff like that should live longer. Very sad.

RIP
