You know...I don't get it...seriously, I don't.
I went to the gas station convenience store today to get some iced tea and a carton of smokes. The cashier was a young lady, probably 23 or so. She was talking to her boyfriend, who was standing on the other side of the counter where a customer would. Directly to the left of him is the door that you have to exit the store out of.

So the young woman says can I help you sir. I asked for the cigs and had to bend around her boyfriend to set my tea on the counter. He's standing right in front of the counter so a customer could not do business. So I'm thinking OK, this asshole is not going to move, no big deal.

I had to reach around the fucker to sign my credit card receipt.

Now, it comes time to leave and I can't get past him to get out the door. So I say excuse me please. He doesn't budge an inch. The woman behind the counter giggles and goes Mike, get out of the way! as I'm trying to squeeze past the fucker. The idiot kind of smiles a little but still doesn't move as I'm trying to suck everything in to slide behind him and out of the store.

My arms were raised high because I was trying to squeeze past this asshole, so I took the cigarette carton and smashed the corner of the box right into his fucking earhole.

He grabs his ear and gets the hell out of my way.

I have almost 30 years on this kid.

I really don't understand what is happening out there in the world with this rudeness.

1. I like to watch them texting as they walk down the halls at work.
Really lets the Boss know how well they can multi-task ;)

3. I work customer service on the phone...
.
...and some of my college-aged co-workers (some of them are
actually college students!!!) talk to their neighbors in normal
conversational-level voices and their language is sometimes
literally to the point of "and the fucking fucker got all up in my
fucking shit" ad infinitum.
.
I have some mild hearing loss due to age and personal history
and I know if I can hear this, my headset mike is picking it up,
too. I don't tolerate it and stand up quickly and say, "I would
appreciate it if you'd be more careful with your language at
work."
.
The immediate UNIVERSAL effect seems to be shock that I'd
DARE to say something... then belligerence. Though they DO
seem to watch it after that (at least for THAT day).
.
My FAVORITE belligerent response?
.
"It's just part of my vocabulary, MAN!!!!!"
.
I happen to LOVE the "f-word" (anyone familiar with my posts
KNOWS it's no stranger to me).
.
But I find it EXCEPTIONALLY annoying when it's used almost
like some sort of subconscious space-filler on the level of
"um" or "y'know". I get bombarded with usage like that both
at work and when riding on the bus.
.
It's pretty fucked up.

8. I'm a substitute teacher who dreads high school assignments because of
the foul language and rude and obnoxious behavior of the kids. I had the misfortune of getting stuck in wood shop recently and wouldn't wish the experience on anyone.

11. At one point, I was an Early Childhood Education major...
.
...because I wanted to teach either very young children... or adults.
.
.
Absolutely NOTHING from 4th to 12th grade.
.
I remember what an asshole I was at that age ... and things are truly
muchmuchmuchmuchmuch worse now.
.
I looked like a well-dressed biker and when I went out as a teacher's
aide one semester, I thought that on Parents' Day, all the mommies
were going to FREAK OUT at the thought of me teaching their precious
li'l snowflakes... but they absolutely LOVED the idea of a male teaching
at that level (it's relatively rare), especially since so many more kids
these days don't have a good male role model at home.
.
People'll surprise ya... THAT'S for sure.

10. You should have held the carton about 3 feet lower
And attempted to exit the store several times at high speed. A couple nut shots would have gone a long way to curing this asshole's desire to be "tough".
