I mean, really, there was no need for that.

The wrath of Bob may soon rain down upon her.

In a beautifully worded song of course.

And perhaps a music video.

2. She's probably still mad at The Counting Crows
And who can blame her?

I have this feverish, hallucinating recollection of an anthropomorphic CGI Rabbit-Duritz in the video. Surely such a thing could never have happened, could it?

3. She seemed to be expressing how she feels about some other people.

Not sure I agree with all she is reported to have said, although I probably agree with some of it.

But she sung this song, so I got nothing bad to say about her.

While I'm not down on the totality of Dylan's work (I enjoy "Mozambique" for example), bottom line -- dude.can't.sing. Non-fans shouldn't weigh in on the phoney/not-a-phoney debate.

I did like this particular quote from the interview:

<<As far as the rest of us Americans, Mitchell, a Canadian, doesn’t seem to have much use for us for the last 30 years. She says her later work “is set against the stupid, destructive way we live on this planet. Americans have decided to be stupid and shallow since 1980. Madonna is like Nero; she marks the turning point.” Ouch. >>

There's a lot of truth in that statement.

5. As much as I love them both,

IIRC, Dylan pretty much said the same of himself, using different words when interviewed on his life from time to time. I still value his body of work, very much, too. She has had her ups and downs, as well. Still, what they each created musically has been the soundtrack to my youth.

I agree with that statement, too, about the destructive way we live on this planet. And the Madonna comment. Seems she represents, and always has, so much of the spoiled "me" attitude that has become so prevalent and continues growing with each generation. I've liked some of her music as well, but her not so much.

:hi:
