Cows Gone Wild

Several cows escaped on their way to the Ohio State University Vet Clinic. The athletic fields shown are right outside 2 large dorms (Morrill and Lincoln Towers, ~1500 students in each), in one of which (Morrill) I spent my junior year. Keep in mind that this scene, cows running around being chased by campus police, is happening in the middle of a 50,000 student campus, and maybe 5 minutes from downtown of a major metro area. Only in Columbus :D


And the stupid part is, some ag students tried to help; the cops told them to get out of the area. So they drove around like idiots for a few hours, instead of getting help from people who actually know what they're doing

1. My buddy Phil's dad had arranged with an Amish farmer...

...to graze two of the farmer's heifers on his property. He sent me
and Phil up in a pickup truck to round up these two li'l doggies.

Phil and I were both smalltown suburban kids, and the sum total of
our experience with cows was the milk we put in our cereal every day.
.
We were expecting these adorable little calves, and what we got were
pretty good-sized near full-grown cows. Them standing there just calmly
chewing their cuds didn't fool us one li'l bit -- we knew we had deadly
EVIL BEASTS on our hands.

The Amish farmer could have been anywhere from 25-45 -- HARD work and
the sun had turned him into this ageless yet ancient Rumplestiltskin
who watched our endeavors while fucking cackling near the whole time.

There was a lightning storm approaching and the cows were skittish and
gave us a HARD time about getting into that truck.

We were scared shitless -- though they were nothing but docile sweeties.

Not so the cows in that video -- pretty damned vicious, if you ask me.

3. we get stuff out on the roads sometimes

I HATE it when the cops "help" (usually by chasing and getting them so riled up they jump through or over the fence into the wrong property) - even worse is random morans driving by trying to be helpful by either stopping in the EXACT wrong spot or not slowing down at all. Um, 900 to 1500 lb bovine + 35 mph passenger vehicle = a fucking messed up car, if not a dead animal and an injured driver.
