What would you like for your birthday?
.
No selfless "World Peace" answers, please. What would you like to
receive for yourSELF -- other than the selfless things?
.
Me... I'd like to be out of debt and I'd like to have someone to snuggle
up with at night -- in a situation where we're BOTH so darn comfortable
with each other that we could give the other a Dutch Oven without
recriminations (though kind-for-kind retaliation would be sore-stomach-
muscle-laughing fun)
.
But that's just me -- I'm obviously the romantic type.
.
What would YOU like?
.

.

1. Well...
...my b'day is next Tuesday. I'd like money, and a nice guy to help me spend my money.

But seriously. I'd be supremely happy with a round trip ticket to Ohio to visit my son and his family. Not looking too good for that though...:(

3. I'd also like
A comfortable someone to snuggle up with, and not just because my birthday is in winter. Failing that, I'll settle for a bottle of Bailey's and a nice homegrown bud.

5. I still look forward to birthdays. My favorite thing is to get family and friends together
and do a fall camping trip. If that's not possible, just getting everyone together and cooking a big meal is OK with me. No gifts necessary, just the company.

6. A job
that I could build a career on and not just "get by." on a piecemeal basis.

I've been laid off 40% of the time so far in this decade. :-(

12. For a while in the Philly area...
.
...I was living in a platonic "Three's Company" situation with
two REALLY sweet housemates who were also co-workers.
.
One Christmas, I got them both a half-day at a spa.
.
EVERY woman at work wanted to be my roomie after that.
.
Even I was envious of them when they told me about their experience.

23. +1
Spent 18 months muttering "I should take a vacation but I don't know what I want to do" at work, went through three resigning techs, burnout, anxiety attacks, etc, before it clicked that I wanted to go to a destination spa. Had already been saving money while I fiddle farted around making up my mind so I could afford it. Pricey.

Yeah.... changed my whole outlook on life. Saving to go again.

If you can save the money, go to a destination spa, where you actually stay AT the spa. Nothing beats puttering around in a cushy bathrobe all day.

17. $200 a month.
Would help ease the strain imposed by not getting a COLA on Social Security; meds have gone up, Med D premium has gone up, gasoline has gone up (making it a bit harder to make the payments on my 8mpg clunker that I couldn't trade in because I'm not allowed to have a newer car). Yeah, $200 a month would buy a little breathing room. But my birthday was last month, so I guess I need to wait a year to make that wish!

I've wanted one for years, but no one takes me seriously when I say it. My temper seems to have gotten much better over the years, but still I think a punching bag would be nice.
