remember laughing so hard a Robert Deniro's character. He was funny wasn't he?

14. It's an unhappy story with black humor, yes; but not a comedy
Michael Palin's quite funny in it, too and he tortures people for the state. Hilarious.

some quotes to entice you...

Boomer: The capital Toronto.
RCMP Officer at Headquarters: No, the capital of Canada is Ottawa.
Boomer: Yeah, right. Do we look that stupid? Ottawa!
Roy Boy: Nice try, Dudley.

Boomer: There it is, men. Toronto.
Roy Boy: It's beautiful. Like no other city I've ever seen. It's like Albany. Only cleaner.

21. I saw a Bob Hope movie from like 1936 and he was amazing.
I can see now how he became "Bob Hope." The Cat and the Canary, I think it was.

25. Stripes
I rather liked Groundhog Day, too. Another Bill Murray vehicle always cracks me up: Ghostbusters.

Most animated movies aren't that funny, but I have two which I strongly recommend:
First, Robin Williams was never funnier on screen that when he wasn't in Aladdin. Second, a couple of years ago Disney put out a charming and very funny movie called Wall-E. I hear Ratatouille (sp?) is funny, too, but haven't seen it.

They should remake Duck Soup.

Another really old but very funny movie was Bringing Up Baby, with Kate Hepburn and Cary Grant. You can't go wrong with a Hepburn/Tracy movie, either.

The maker of Some Like It Hot, Blake Edwards, also put out a now little-seen movie about Hollywood called S.O.B. The movie is memorable if only because it is the only time on screen that Julie Andrews was topless. A lot of very funny people in this movie, including (believe it or not, he could be funny) William Holden.

Holden of course made another comedy, Paddy Chayefsky's Network. The first time I saw it I didn't think it was funny. Now I can't stand it. What a smart movie.

There's a clever and funny movie about smoking, and quitting smoking, was made in the early seventies with Dick Van Dyke in the lead role called Cold Turkey. About a year before that was Robert Altman's brilliant M*A*S*H, and a couple years before that was The Graduate. Another clever comedy most may have forgotten: The Freshman.

How many science-fiction action comedies can you name? There are some very funny scenes in The Fifth Element, and a hot chick to boot.

One of my favorite comedies is Fight Club. I can't talk about it.

The Mask was pretty funny, too.
