I mooched a free meal at Rathbun's in Atlanta last night. OMG!

Actually, I was a guest of Dr. D.'s at a banquet for a group of distinguished psychologists. I had heard Rathbun's was good. OMG! Almost all of the 35+ there, including me, ordered the 22-oz bone-in rib-eye. It was fantastic.

But it gets better. I ended up with four left-over rib-eyes that were only picked on by some few that had had a bit too much wine (they all stayed in Atlanta for the rest of the meeting; I drove back to Greenville, SC, after dinner last night with my "loot"). Tonight I put one of those medium-rare 22-oz rib-eyes on the grill, off fire, with a lot of wet hickory chips on the coals. I let the steak heat for about thirty minutes. Then I served it with the original blue cheese/vinegar sauce that I had saved and re-heated.

Tonight's re-heat of that Rathbun's rib-eye was the best steak in history!
